On March 1, 2017, historical Lotto Plus draw happened. R26,550,301 is the highest amount of money ever won in this game, similar to Lotto.

Free State woman won life changing money with Lotto Plus

Free State is a province of South Africa with remarkable landscapes and agriculture. The woman we are talking about was playing this game since the official launch - 17 years ago. Whenever she had some money to spare - she bought one or a few more tickets. And guess what - now she's a millionaire.

She had so much luck. Her account is capable of buying her a private jet, but probably it's not what she's planning now. Winner selected winning numbers by herself only. She is very careful with that every time. That day one ticket was purchased with R15. Usually, she with her husband spends about R500 for tickets every month. Strangely, this record jackpot was their first big win.

She told media how she realised, she's a millionaire:

"I found out about the winning ticket while standing in my kitchen and checking the Lotto Plus numbers from a text message on my phone. When I got to the 3rd correct number, I just started screaming, shaking, and spinning around. I was unbelievably excited. I phoned my husband, but he couldn’t believe it either and said that I should make sure first. I then phoned the Ithuba office, who confirmed that I did win."

Every winner needs some advice about what to do with such great money. As she says she never thought she would become another big winner. With her husband they were just regular, poor people. Because of that, they received financial advice from Ithuba, as well as psychological and emotional counseling.

Now winners plan to invest most of the money. Thankfully they will be prepared for retirement. They always wanted to tour South Africa. Now they can, also have big plans for visiting Namibia and Malawi.
